Accidents can sometimes occur during a trip, leaving a mess that requires professional cleaning. While the vehicle is being cleaned, the driver is unable to continue taking trips.
In such cases, a cleaning fee may apply to cover the cleaning costs.
When you may be charged
If a mess during your trip requires professional cleaning, a cleaning fee may apply based on the severity of the incident. Fees vary by the type and severity of the mess, as shown below:
| Type of mess | Applicable Cleaning Fee |
|
Up to $40 |
|
Up to S$120 |
|
Up to S$200 |
How is the cleaning fee determined?
Ryde reviews the submitted photos, trip details, and cleaning receipt to determine the appropriate amount, up to the applicable cap. For example, a verified vomit incident may result in a cleaning fee of up to S$200.
How do I pay the cleaning fee?
Our team will contact you to provide payment instructions once the contamination claim has been verified.
What happens if I do not pay the fee?
Your account may be temporarily placed on hold and you will not be able to book any new rides until the payment is cleared.
As set out in our Terms of Use, riders are responsible for professional cleaning fees where applicable
What if I did not cause the contamination?
