Riders may be charged a cleaning fee of up to S$140 if they dirty the vehicle and professional cleaning is required (e.g. vomit, bodily fluids, odour, stains). This reflects the higher service standards and vehicle upkeep expected on the Ryde platform.
What drivers should do:
a. Take clear photos of the mess as proof, ideally immediately after the trip ends.
b. Communicate with the rider and reach a mutual agreement on payment within 2 working days (e.g. PayNow, PayLah!, or inter-bank transfer) once the receipt is provided.
c. Provide the rider with a receipt for the professional cleaning clearly stating the specific cleaning services performed after payment has been made.
If you are unable to reach a mutual agreement with the rider within 2 working days, please submit the cleaning receipt to Ryde for review.
Until payment is recovered, the rider will be suspended from booking any further Ryde trips.
Important PDPA Notice
When collecting or sharing information (e.g. photos, contact details, payment proof), please ensure it is done solely to resolve the cleaning fee issue.
Do not misuse or disclose the rider’s data for any other purpose. Ryde will handle any submitted information in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
Please note that Ryde is not responsible for covering cleaning costs. This is a private arrangement between the driver and rider.
