We understand that a mess costs you more than just a cleaning fee; it also takes you off the road. Ryde’s reimbursement tiers are structured to reflect both the cleaning cost and the downtime.
What should I do when there is a mess
- Riders are responsible for the cleaning expenses if they create a mess in your vehicle
- Do not demand compensation directly from riders; submit a claim to Ryde for the cleaning expenses to be reimbursed to you.
- Inform the passenger that the incident will be reported to Ryde
- At least one photo must show the vehicle’s car plate number to verify the vehicle
How to submit a claim:
- Your vehicle must be professionally cleaned within 24 hours from the incident
- Submit your claim via the driver app within 48 hours from the affected trip
- Provide the following details in your claim:
*Proof of mess (i.e. photo of the vomit, stains, etc.)
*Receipt from the cleaning company with:
- Company’s name, contact number, address
- Cleaning date
- Car plate number
- Authorised personnel's signature and company stamp

All claims are subject to review. Ryde reserves the sole discretion to approve, deny, and decide on a fair reimbursement amount.
How and when will I get paid?
Once you submit your claim, our team will review the photos, cleaning receipt, and may verify the incident details where required.
If your claim is approved, your reimbursement will be credited to you promptly after approval. The reimbursement is guaranteed and is not dependent on the rider completing payment, as Ryde will manage the recovery process separately.
You can appeal within 24 hours if you disagree with the outcome of your claim with any additional supporting evidence.
What if the cleaning cost exceeds the policy cap?
Reimbursement will be capped based on the applicable tier (up to S$200). Any excess amount will not be covered.
Important
*Mess that can be cleaned immediately without professional cleaning will not be reimbursed.
*Fur and saliva from pets are expected during pet-friendly trips and will not be reimbursed.
