1. What should I do before my ride arrives?
Have your pet's travel method ready – If using a carrier, have it open and accessible. If using a leash, ensure it's securely fastened and within arm's reach.
Minimise stress for your pet – Take your pet out for a bathroom break beforehand. Keep them calm and comfortable until pickup.
Protect the vehicle – Bring absorbent pads or blankets if your pet may have accidents or shed heavily.
Brief the driver – Let the driver know your pet's temperament (nervous, excitable, anxious) so they can help keep your pet calm during the ride.
2. Do standard waiting time policies apply when I'm loading my pet?
Yes. Standard waiting time policies apply to all rides, including those with pets. If you require additional time to load or prepare your pet for the journey, charges may accrue after the complimentary waiting period expires.
We recommend having your pet ready and leashed (or in a carrier) before your driver arrives to avoid extra charges.
3. Can the driver refuse or cancel my ride?
A driver may refuse the Pet-friendly ride if:
- The pet setup is not as per the selected category (e.g. Pet Type, Leashed/Carrier)
- Not approved by Animal & Veterinary Services (AVS)
- Not accompanied by an adult on the commute
- Aggressive and the driver's safety is at risk
- A Second Schedule dog breed (and/or is not muzzled)
If the number of pets you bring exceeds the recommended permutation, drivers will also have the discretion to refuse the ride.
4. Can I travel with my pets on other services other than RydePET?
We strongly discourage travelling with pets on non-pet-friendly rides. Drivers on standard services may not be prepared for pets and could cancel or decline your ride. To ensure a smooth experience, please book RydePET or RydePET XL, which are designed specifically for pet travel.
Guide dogs are an exception. Guide dogs are welcome on all Ryde transport services. However, drivers may occasionally need to decline a trip due to health or religious considerations. If this occurs, we kindly ask that you rebook.
5. What if my pet soils the car?
If your pet soils the vehicle (e.g. bodily fluids such as urine, vomit, or stains), a cleaning fee of up to S$120 may apply.
This helps drivers cover professional cleaning costs and get back on the road quickly, while maintaining hygiene and service standards on the Ryde platform.
6. Are pets covered by insurance while on board?
No, pets are not insured on RydePET rides.
