All taxi, private-hire, and carpool drivers must undergo weekly Covid-19 testing from Nov 1 to continue providing Point-to-Point (P2P) services. Only taxi and private-hire drivers will be allowed to self-test using antigen rapid test (ART) kits at their convenience and declare the results via the Ryde Driver App.
You may proceed to drive on our platform if your test result is negative, and declare your results when the pop-up screen appears on your Driver app.
For Taxi and Private Hire Drivers:
Unvaccinated drivers or drivers who are not fully vaccinated will be required to undergo two tests per week at Quick Test Centres (QTCs). Due to the large number of taxi/ private hire car drivers, Ryde will progressively issue the ART kits or schedule unvaccinated or non-fully vaccinated drivers for testing at QTCs.
Cost of testing at QTCs:
If you are medically ineligible (MI), you are not required to make payment at QTCs. But you need to have the doctor’s memo as proof. If you are medically eligible (ME), you will have to bear the costs for the additional test for each week (the first session will be FOC). Please email your proof to support@rydesharing.com
Vaccinated drivers are required to do unsupervised self swab using ART kits provided by the government. Collection of ART kits are assigned by LTA. Please only come to receive your ART kits if you have received an SMS from Ryde.
Ryde will only distribute these kits to you if LTA has assigned Ryde as your distributor. If Ryde has been assigned as your ART kit distributor:
- You will receive an sms from us for collection. Please come during the time slot allocated to you for collection.
-
- If you have not received any sms from us, it means that LTA has assigned another operator to give it to you. You cannot collect it from us.
- If you have received an sms from us but have not collected it, the next collection slot will be assigned to you again in an sms. Please wait for this sms and collect it according to the time slot given.
For Carpool Drivers:
Please note that all carpool drivers must declare updated vaccination status, and make arrangements to get regularly tested at one of MOH-approved ART providers in licensed premises.
You may refer to MOH's list of ART providers here: https://www.moh.gov.sg/docs/librariesprovider5/covid19_test_providers/approved-covid-19-onsite-art-swab-providerf2204971c7534a44ad6f4b528c65b1e7.pdf
Please call the clinic to ensure that they are able to offer private-paid ART swabs. The fees published in this list are as per HCI's declaration and may be subject to change by the HCI from time to time.
